Interlibrary Loan

Online Requests

Many requests can be filled through our catalog.

  • Locate the item you want using the search box above. You may narrow your search by author, title, series, and more.
  • For physical items and CloudLibrary items, click on the Place Hold button. If you are not already logged in, you will be asked to enter your library barcode number (14 digits) and PIN. Don't have a PIN? Stop by the library to set one up.
  • For items available through Libby, click on Borrow with Libby. You will be prompted to enter an email address to reserve the item if it is checked out.
  • You will be notified by phone or email when the requested item(s) are ready for you.

Interlibrary Loan Requests

If you are unable to find an item through our GMILCS consortium catalog, or if you receive the message "Ask a librarian for assistance" when you try to place a GMILCS request, there are a number of ways to place a request.

  • Come into the library and fill out an Interlibrary Loan Request form

Note: You must be a Wadleigh Memorial Library card holder to make an Interlibrary Loan request.

Search the NHAIS catalog

The NHAIS catalog searches all the libraries in New Hampshire. Select your library and use your library card and PIN to make a request. 

Out of state requests

If we are unable to obtain your request through GMILCS or NHAIS, we will search outside the state. Items that are coming from out of state take longer to process, so please allow at least two months. We make every effort to obtain requested items for you.


Article Requests

Article requests must include a complete citation.  To make an article request, please call us at 603-249-0645, email us at refdesk@wadleighlibrary.org, or come into the library and fill out a request form.
